Cat in the centre of the Universe

Why every day is Cat Day at 3coty®

Some countries celebrate cats on the 8th of August. Others choose the 17th of February. A few have their own traditions. But anyone who lives with a cat knows the truth. One day is never enough.

At 3coty® cats are always at the centre. Not only because we care, but because we believe that everything good begins with understanding our cats. Their needs. Their nature. Their place in the world. Our food, our packaging, and our entire philosophy have grown from this belief.

Traditionally, people spoke of four elements: earth, water, air, and fire. But something has always been missing from that list. A force that brings everything together, gives it purpose, and makes it feel complete. We believe the cat is that element. The magic one.

For us, the cat represents love, knowledge, and honesty. It reminds us to do better. To keep things simple. To act with respect. That is why we make our food the way we do, using only what is truly necessary and leaving out everything that does not belong. That is why we choose recyclable packaging, without plastic pouches or unnecessary wraps. And that is why we are transparent in everything we say, even when the answers are complex.

This philosophy shapes every part of 3coty®. We want to support your life with your cat and help make that connection deeper, healthier, and longer lasting. Whether it is August or February, every tin we produce is a quiet celebration of the cat. A way to say thank you.

Cats may not ask for much. But they give us everything. That is why, for us, they will always remain at the centre of the universe.

Tell us what makes your cat the magic element in your life.

Did you know? There is no single official Cat Day. Different countries celebrate on different dates, but cats always win.

August 8 is widely recognised as International Cat Day. It is celebrated in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and the United States. Across Europe, countries such as Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania also mark the day.

But some places prefer a different date.

February 17 is National Cat Day in Poland, Italy, and the Czech Republic.

March 1 is Cat Day in Russia.

February 22 is Cat Day in Japan, chosen because “2-2-2” sounds like nyan nyan nyan — the Japanese cat sound.

April 4 is National Cat Day in South Korea.

October 29 is National Cat Day in the United States.

August 17 is Black Cat Appreciation Day in the US and UK.

October 27 is Black Cat Day in Italy and the UK.

Some countries even celebrate cats more than once. Because when it comes to cats, one day is never enough.
