Because cats love to snuggle

It’s not all about being warm – but that helps!

Cats are famous for finding warm places to sleep. We know pictures of cats dominate the internet and there are many pictures of cats who have found warm places to sleep. Although cats are warm-blooded and do not rely on sunshine for warmth like lizards, they do not have many ways of getting and staying warm. Some breeds have undercoats, which thicken as the days get shorter. But they cannot warm themselves by shivering the way humans can. Finding a warm and cozy place to is important so as not to get cold while sleeping.

Temperature is not the only thing which cats look for when seeking comfort. Even breeds with fur can feel the surface texture of what they are lying on. It may feel more intuitive that a Peterbald, Sphynx or Cornish Rex can feel how soft a blanket is, but many short and long hair cats have a favourite cushion, blanket or bed made of a particular fabric on which they sleep. It is often recommended to put a piece of the cat’s favourite fabric inside their travel carrier to make journeys more comfortable.

The 3coty® Bedrolls are made with both warmth and soft surface in mind. The outside is always polar fleece, which keeps the Bedroll warm. In our original Bedroll, the interior is also made of polar fleece. The new Snug bedroll has a soft fluffy lining providing an alternative surface on which a cat can get comfortable.
