Understanding symptoms, support and the first steps
Food allergies are becoming more common in cats and yet they are often difficult to pinpoint. Many owners receive the diagnosis from their vet without a clear explanation of what is causing the reaction. We understand how confusing and stressful this can be.
Our own journey with an allergic cat is the reason 3coty® exists today. We know what it feels like to see your cat uncomfortable and we know the frustration of trying product after product without improvement. This is why helping allergic cats and supporting their owners is at the heart of what we do.
The most important thing for us is to guide you and your cat through this process with clarity and care. We are here to answer your questions, explain the steps and help you find a clean and simple path forward. We can guide you on how to begin an elimination diet, we can share practical advice based on our knowledge and our own experience and we have several blog posts that explain the basics in detail.
So reach out to us. Talk to us and share your story. You are not alone in this journey and we are here to support you and your cat every step of the way.
What is an elimination diet?
An elimination diet means feeding your cat only one clean protein source and nothing else for a set period of time. No treats, no snacks and no variations. The goal is to remove all possible triggers long enough to observe whether symptoms improve.
How long should it last?
Most veterinarians recommend a minimum of six to eight weeks. Some cats with severe or long standing symptoms may require twelve weeks. Consistency is essential because even one small deviation can reset the process.
An elimination diet is one of the most reliable ways to identify a food allergy and to understand which proteins your cat tolerates best.
